The retirement of Chief Justice Bathurst AC

The farewell ceremony to mark the retirement of Chief Justice Tom Bathurst AC was held in the Banco Court on 28 February 2022. The ceremony saw Yvonne Weldon, deputy chairwoman of the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council give a touching welcome to country, followed by the Hon Justice Bell, speaking on behalf of the judges of the Supreme Court of NSW. Attorney General Mark Speakman SC spoke on behalf of the NSW Bar, with Juliana Warner, president of the Law Society of NSW, speaking on behalf of solicitors.
